Supporting Your Student
Below are the most common areas that students end up needing assistance or guidance with. Please familiarize yourself with these available resources and encourage your student to reach out if they are in need of any of the following. There is always someone ready and willing to help at Southern Miss, but we can't always locate them if they do not reach out. Please help us, help them, by having these important conversations with your student. If your particular need isn't listed below, you can always reach out to us directly at ParentsandFamily@usm.edu.
Accessing Student Records as a Parent or Family Member
- Log on to SOAR and within SOAR, click the "Manage Guests" menu option.
- Click the "Add Guest User" option at the top-right of the page.
- Complete the Terms & Conditions section.
- Complete the "Add Guest User" section as prompted.
- Note that permissions can be edited and the ellipses will generate a new password for the guardian.
- Once activated, parents can log into SOAR using their newly created login and password to view their student鈥檚 information.
