Bio

Dr. Ellen Price Elder is Professor of Piano at the University of Southern Mississippi where she teaches applied piano at the graduate and undergraduate levels and piano pedagogy. An active performer and collaborator, she has appeared throughout the United States, and in South America and Europe as soloist, collaborative pianist, and masterclass clinician. Her students have earned numerous awards and distinctions, received full assistantships and scholarships to leading graduate programs, and hold faculty positions in the United States, China, and South America.

She has won multiple national and international awards in both performance and teaching (four-time Steinway & Sons Top Teacher Award). Her collaborative recordings include Indefatigable (Global Music Award Silver Medal), and On the Horizon. She is in demand as an adjudicator and clinician, and has served as President of the Mississippi Music Teachers Association and Hattiesburg Music Teachers League.
