Bio

Dr. Kari Smith Murphy is an Assistant Professor of Educational Research and Administration in the College of Education and Human Sciences. She earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Auburn University, an M.Ed. in Social Studies Education from the University of Georgia, and a B.A. in History from the University of North Georgia. Before entering higher education, she served for nearly a decade in K-12 education in instructional, athletic, and administrative leadership roles. Her research centers on teacher workload, burnout, and retention, particularly the organizational policies and working conditions that shape educators' experiences.
