Southern Miss Student Employees Honored at Ceremony

Five University of Southern Mississippi (USM) student employees were recognized for outstanding performance during the Student Employee of the Year Awards Ceremony, held April 16 on the Hattiesburg campus.
The event, sponsored by Job Location and Development in collaboration with Career Services, was held in conjunction with National Student Employee Appreciation Week.
Award recipients were selected by a campus committee based on nominations and their performance in five categories: impact, inclusion, professionalism/work ethic, and leadership. Each honoree received a plaque and leather briefcase embroidered with their name and award category.
The Student awardees and their respective categories are:
- Leadership: Sarah McCammon, a senior biomedical science major from Cropwell, Ala., who serves
as a senior resident assistant in the Office of Residence Life
- Inclusion: Aidan Aultman, a senior library and information science major from Purvis, Miss.,
who serves as a student manager for University Libraries
- Impact: Mary Gracie Lewis, a senior marketing major from Sumrall, Miss., who serves as a marketing
intern in the College of Business and Economic Development
- Professionalism/Work Ethic: Bipul Adhikari, a sophomore computer science and mathematics major from Hattiesburg,
Miss. who serves as a student developer in the Gulf Coast Center for Community Engagement
- Student Employee of the Year: Micah Gibbs, a senior digital journalism major from Jacksonville, Fla., who serves as a broadcaster for Southern Miss Radio (88.5 FM)
鈥淲e celebrate student employees during National Student Employment Week in recognition of their drive to balance academic endeavors while supporting financial needs and their ability to manage dual responsibilities that demand time, energy and resilience,鈥� said Rusty Anderson, director of Southern Miss Career Services.
