
In-Person Exam Proctoring
Your Guide to Taking Online Exams at hattiesburg:
Beginning on July 1, 2026, all online exams taken on the 91少女集中营 will be proctored through SAS. With this shift, students can expect a few changes:
- There is no longer any fee associated with online proctoring on the Hattiesburg campus.
- SAS will not proctor exams for non-USM students.
- After June 30, exams will be proctored in McLemore Hall, Suite 112 on Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM until 3:30 PM.
- Complete the at least two (2) days before your exam date.
- Be sure that you schedule your exam for a date and time that aligns with your instructor's syllabus. Instructors reserve the right to deny a proctoring request if the requested date and time do not match their schedule.
- On the day of your exam, report to Student Accessibility Services at McLemore Hall, room 112 at least fifteen minutes before your scheduled exam time.
- You must have a photo ID to take an exam.
- All online exams must be taken on SAS machines unless otherwise noted by an instructor.
Students can schedule exams for the Gulf Park Testing Center (Gulf Park Library, Room 210) by using .
It is the primary responsibility of the student taking the exam to secure a proctor. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth proctoring experience:
- Locate an appropriate proctor.
- Examples of appropriate proctors: College Testing Centers, Public Libraries (where available), Testing Facilities
- Examples of inappropriate proctors: Supervisors, Co-Workers, Family Members, Friends, Former Teachers,

- Work with your chosen proctor to ensure availability.
- Once you confirm their availability, complete the and be sure to indicate that you plan to take an exam at a non-USM location..
- Once you submit the application, a member of our team will follow up to confirm your appointment and any next steps, if necessary.

SAS will not oversee the scheduling and/or administration of exams through ProctorU. Yes! SAS now facilitates in-person exam proctoring for all Hattiesburg students.
Our office suite is located in McLemore Hall, Room 112. All exams will be proctored in Room 156.
Online Exam Proctoring FAQs for Faculty:
With this shift, there are some changes to the University Proctoring Policy. The university community can find an index of our policies here.
No proctored exams are to be scheduled or required before the third (3rd) week of the class during fall and spring semesters. No proctored exam should be scheduled before the second (2nd) week for summer semester. This time period is needed for students to submit their applications for examination by proctor, and for identifying and approving proctors, and the verification of exam dates.
All testing information can now be sent to sasFREEMississippi.
As before, all instructors must submit a password/instruction document(s) for each online exam(s) no later that the tenth (10th) working day of the semester.
The password/instruction document should include the date(s) the exam is to be given, time allotted to take the exam, navigation to the exam and any instructions as to what students may have with them during the exam. If you would like a sample document, one can be provided to you by SAS.
SAS will notify instructors when all students (regardless of accommodation status) schedule an exam with us. These notifications will look different, but we encourage instructors to review each scheduling request and reach out with any questions or concerns.
