Get Involved
The Institute for Disability Studies offers a variety of opportunities for students and community members to get involved through volunteering, service projects, and internships. Guided by a mission to increase independence, productivity, and community inclusion, these opportunities allow participants to positively impact the lives of Mississippi citizens with developmental and other disabilities and their families across the lifespan.
Individuals may support the Institute through volunteering at events, assisting with community outreach, participating in service projects that promote inclusion, or completing internships that provide hands-on, meaningful professional experience. Opportunities are designed to align with participants’ interests, skills, and availability while fostering professional growth and community engagement.
Those interested in volunteering, service learning, or internship opportunities are encouraged to complete the interest form below to be connected with opportunities that best match their goals and schedule.
Please review the Institute for Disability Studies Volunteer Policy prior to completing the volunteer interest form.
