91ŮӪ School of Leadership will host the fifth annual Southern Miss Cruisin' on Monday, Oct. 5, from 3 to 5 p.m. on the South Lawn at Southern Miss Gulf Park in Long Beach, Miss.

Held on the same day as the Long Beach activities of Cruisin’ the Coast, the event invites classic car enthusiasts, members of the Southern Miss community and area residents to gather along Highway 90 for an afternoon of classic cars and family-friendly activities.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the classic and antique vehicles displayed across the South Lawn, as well as the many cars traveling along the beachfront highway.

Since its launch, Southern Miss Cruisin’ has developed into an annual tradition that brings car owners, students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members together on the Gulf Park campus. The event offers attendees a relaxed setting to connect while celebrating the cars and culture that make Cruisin’ the Coast a signature event for the region.

This year’s Southern Miss Cruisin’ coincides with the 30th anniversary of Cruisin’ the Coast, which brings thousands of classic vehicles and visitors to communities throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Dr. Jacob Breland, director of the School of Leadership, said this year’s event marks two important milestones for Southern Miss and the Coast.

“As Southern Miss Cruisin’ enters its fifth year, we are proud to see it become a Gulf Park tradition,” said Breland. “This year is especially meaningful as we join the Mississippi Gulf Coast in celebrating 30 years of Cruisin’ the Coast. We look forward to welcoming longtime participants and first-time visitors to campus for an afternoon that reflects the energy and spirit of our coastal community.”

Owners of classic and antique vehicles are invited to display their cars on the South Lawn at the front of campus. Event organizers will be available to direct participating vehicles to the appropriate parking areas. General parking will be available in the Lloyd Hall parking lot. Registration is not required.
