USM's Mississippi Delta chapter of AED was first chartered on October 23, 1948.
AED is a nationally recognized pre-health honor society. Potential members must have completed 3 semesters of pre-health coursework, have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0, a BCPM GPA of 3.3 and actively pursuing a career in medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine or other health care professions that require post baccalaureate study leading to an advanced degree.
